Curl your hair with a curling iron, with a TWIST.. =D

I know, I know. It’s pretty obvious I love curls.. =D

Anyway… I was just browsing through some Japanese magazine scans, and I love how the models of the mags have curls that separate from each other. It’s hard to explain, so let me just show you a picture of it.

See how the curls are separated into thin strands of curls.. Cute right?

See what I mean?? Actually, what they did to achieve the look is separate the curls, takes the strands, then hairspray them.

But what if you don’t want all the product buildup? Or just lazy like me to spray each and every thin strand of hair with hairspray? I got a solution for you.

After putting in your favorite hair products, curl enhancers, etc., all you have to do is curl your hair the normal way you’d do with a curling iron. But, instead of curling sections right away, give the section 3-5 twists before putting it in the curling iron. After twisting the section, continue clipping it on your curling iron, then curl the normal way.

What this does is that the section is sort of “grouped”, and does not separate, as long as your products have good hold. If you curl the normal way, without the twisting, what you get is what i call “ribbon curls”. Ribbon curls coz they sort of look like curled up ribbons. =D

Fewer twists (like 2-3 twists) on the sections gives sort of a mix of a ribbon curl and the twisty curls. It’s grouped up, and at the same time, it still gives that softer look to the curl.

So, instead of setting your hair with pomade if your in a hurry, then this is a great solution. Will put up a pic for a sample result of what I’m talking about. Try varying on the twists. Experimentation is the key. =D

Hope this helps. Do comment. I love getting feedback. =D

Hahahaha!! =D Well, if you ought to do it “before” an event, you’d probably have to start an hour or 2 before the event, coz it may take some time.. =D Glad you think its cool. =D
