Lauren Conrad's Updo

Lauren Conrad's Updo

Since I am such a fan of Glamour.com, I decided to sign up for their DIY Makeover.. =D And I saw this look, which was just too great for me to pass. So, I wanted to share it with you guys too. Here is an excerpt from Glamour.com…

If fussy hairstyles aren’t your bag, try Lauren Conrad’s laid-back braided ‘do. The California-girl hairstyle works if you live in the Hollywood Hills, Houston or anywhere in between! A pioneer of the recent braided boho hairstyle, Lauren Conrad turned up at the 2008 Emmy Awards with this low-key twist on a red-carpet updo. She makes it seem fresh and formal by adding a few tightly woven strands into her loose, sexy chignon.

Here’s what you need:

  1. Texturizing Spray
  2. Hair Dryer
  3. Hair Pins / Hair Grips
  4. Curling Iron

Here’s how to get her cool, laid-back look:

  1. Start by blow-drying clean hair. Spritz with texturizing spray.
  2. Wrap thick sections around a two-inch-barrel curling iron and gently separate curls with fingers.
  3. Create two to three thin braids on either side of your part. Don’t braid plaits too tightly—they’ll need to move around for the next step.
  4. Leaving braids hanging in the front, pull back waves and braids into a loose, messy bun. Twist hair slightly before tucking tails of bun underneath the mound waves and secure with pins.
  5. Taking one braid at a time, gently pull back each plait and tuck it into waves, securing with pins. Set with light hairspray.
  6. Loosen a few front pieces to frame the face.

Easy right?? So, why not give it a try? Tell me what you think and comment back.. =D
